The A-Team: Isaac Brevil
Meet an Asymmetrik Graphic Designer
Feb 18, 2019
Graphic Designer Isaac Brevil was always fascinated by the artwork in anime, comic books, and video games. As a kid, he drew constantly, and dreamt of one day becoming a video game artist.
But, that changed in high school, after taking an eye-opening Visual Communications class. The class introduced him to “the concept of using art not only as a form of expression, but also as a form of communication juxtaposing typography and imagery to illustrate complex ideas.” Needless to say, Isaac was hooked.
At Asymmetrik, Isaac helps translate ideas into visual representations for our customers. He says, “Our world is constantly changing and we are constantly finding new ways to communicate. As communication changes, so too does design and I cannot wait to see where it goes.”
Joining The A-Team
Isaac joined our growing UX Team last November. “What really attracted me was how Asymmetrik seemed very different from the other companies in the industry. The vibe that I got from the website, the company culture, and the mascot Farley made me want to explore a bit further. I’m glad I did.”
We’re thrilled that he’s here, and the feeling is mutual. “Asymmetrik is a company that cares about its employees and their families. Because of that, when I go into work every morning it feels like I’m coming home to my second family.”
Life Outside of Work
Outside of the office, you might find Isaac working out or training others (he’s a certified personal trainer). He truly enjoys exercising both his mind and body. “Movement is essential to life and I think it is important not only to practice it, but also to teach it.”
In addition, Isaac is quite the singer. Most recently, he showed off his talents with an impromptu rendition of “My Girl” at our holiday party. In fact, he was so good that the entire room started singing along! Since Isaac grew up singing at church and in school choir, performing is second nature to him. At Towson University, he sang with the university’s coed a cappella group Purrfect Pitch for two years, which he calls a “wonderful experience”.
Isaac hopes to continue to learn, grow, and have many more wonderful experiences. To him, living a good life means “being healthy and able to learn as much as possible so that I can help myself, the people I love, and everyone around me. Every experience you have in life shapes who you are and who you will become.”
- His favorite 90’s jam is “Don’t Sweat the Technique” by Eric B. and Rakim.
- The Dark Knight is his favorite movie of all time. “I love Batman. Heath Ledger’s rendition of The Joker coupled with Christian Bale’s acting and Christopher Nolan’s direction made for a wonderful film. I’ve probably seen it like 40 times.”
- If he was a color, he’d be black – not only because it’s his favorite color, but because “it can be nothing and everything all at the same time.”
