Clash of the Chilis
Our annual Chili Cookoff was on fire!

At Asymmetrik, chilly Fall weather means only one thing: it’s Chili Cookoff time! On Wednesday, we celebrated chilis of all kinds at our third annual Clash of the Chilis.

On a gray and overcast day, the weather was perfect for cozying up with a big bowl of chili. Instant Pots and slow cookers bubbled away, filling our office with delicious aromas. Ranging from traditional to exotic, there was plenty of tough competition. We knew going in that it was going to be hard to pick a winner. But, we put on our eating pants and dutifully got to work.

Our team sampled entries including: smoked brisket and chorizo chili, pizza chili, tandoori lamb chili, chicken marsala chili, Texas-style chili, white chicken chili with bacon, chocolate Guinness brisket chili, plus two kinds of green chili with pork.

By popular vote, Ryan Johnston reigned supreme with his smoked brisket and chorizo chili. As first place winner, Ryan took home a $100 Amazon gift card, a trophy, a victory apron, and most importantly, bragging rights. Naveen Chaudhary came in a close second with his tandoori lamb chili, and Matt Gaulin placed third with his chile verde.
