We Won a Technical Competition
Tackling ONC’s FHIR Challenge
Feb 08, 2018
Asymmetrik is making big strides in creating a better patient experience.
Last month, we built and submitted a solution for Secure API Server Showdown Challenge, hosted by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC). Today, we have exciting news to share: Asymmetrik won the competition!
Thanks to our A-Team members who worked so hard to develop the winning secure FHIR® server. Now, the source code is publicly available via open source.
Why This Matters
If you’ve ever filled out duplicate paperwork when seeing doctors in different healthcare networks, then you know how frustrating the process can be. With all the current technological developments, it seems like personal health data should be portable. Yet right now, simply accessing health records online can be a challenge.
Now, Asymmetrik’s winning solution paves the way for patients to have more control over their own health records. We envision a day where moving medical records between healthcare providers, accessing them using mobile apps, and sharing them with insurance companies, caretakers and loved ones is a seamless experience. With this, we’re one step closer.
